CREATEX COLORS ‱ WICKED OPAQUE COLORS

Createx Wicked Opaque Colors for High-Coverage Airbrushing

Createx Wicked Opaque Colors are water-based, multi-surface graphic paints formulated for stronger coverage than standard transparent Wicked Colors. Designed for airbrush and spray-gun application, the opaque range includes primary colors, earth tones, neutrals, specialty shades, and coordinated sets for models, custom graphics, artwork, hobby projects, textiles, and prepared hard surfaces.

Wicked Opaque Colors in This Collection

The Wicked Opaque palette includes bright graphic colors, earth and neutral tones, dark shades, specialty colors, and paint sets for workflows where more solid color coverage is preferred.

  • Core Opaque Colors: Opaque White W030 and Opaque Black W031 provide essential light, dark, mixing, and base-color options.
  • Bright Colors: Hansa Yellow, Bismuth Vanadate Yellow, Pyrrole Orange, Pyrrole Red, Phthalo Green, Limelight Green, Phthalo Blue, and Daylight Blue provide a broad working palette.
  • Deep & Neutral Colors: Dioxazine Purple, Cream, Flat Black, Titan Buff, Teal, Magenta, and Ultramarine Blue expand the opaque range.
  • Earth Tones: Red Oxide, Yellow Oxide, Brown Oxide, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Burnt Umber, and Raw Umber support natural, weathered, muted, and model-painting palettes.
  • Opaque Paint Sets: Primary, multi-color, and earth-tone sets provide coordinated Wicked Opaque palettes in one package.

Strong Coverage for Base Colors & Solid Fills

Wicked Opaque Colors are formulated for applications where stronger hiding power and more solid color are needed compared with standard Wicked Transparent Colors.

  • Higher coverage: Useful for base colors, solid fills, graphic shapes, lettering, model work, and other applications where underlying color needs greater concealment.
  • Layerable application: Coverage can be built gradually with controlled coats rather than relying on one heavy application.
  • Intermixable colors: Wicked Opaque shades can be mixed to create custom colors and variations within the Wicked paint system.
  • Broad palette: Bright hues, neutrals, earth tones, and specialty shades make the opaque range useful across many painting styles.

Airbrush Setup & 4011 Reducer

Createx formulates Wicked Opaque Colors to spray directly from the bottle through a suitable larger-tip airbrush while also allowing reduction for finer spray setups.

  • 0.5 mm airbrush: Createx identifies a 0.5 mm tip as suitable for spraying Wicked Opaque Colors directly from the bottle.
  • 4011 Reducer: Add as needed to lower viscosity and improve flow.
  • Smaller airbrush tips: Additional reduction can make Wicked Opaque Colors easier to atomize through smaller setups.
  • Adjust for the project: Final reduction and pressure depend on the specific color, airbrush tip size, desired coverage, and painting technique.

Multi-Surface Wicked Opaque Paint

Wicked Colors use a durable acrylic-urethane resin system developed for strong adhesion and multi-surface painting. Surface preparation should always match the substrate and intended use of the finished project.

  • Scale models and miniature projects
  • Custom graphics and airbrush artwork
  • Helmets and prepared hard surfaces
  • Props and cosplay projects
  • RC bodies and hobby applications
  • Canvas and decorative artwork
  • Textiles and fabric graphics
  • Prepared plastic and other rigid surfaces

Opaque Earth Tones & Natural Colors

The expanded Wicked Opaque range includes several earth and neutral colors that are useful when brighter primary colors are not the right fit for the project.

  • Oxide Colors: Red Oxide, Yellow Oxide, and Brown Oxide provide muted mineral-style tones for models, weathering palettes, graphics, and artwork.
  • Sienna Colors: Burnt Sienna and Raw Sienna provide warm natural browns and earth-oriented mixing options.
  • Umber Colors: Burnt Umber and Raw Umber provide deeper neutral browns for shadows, natural color mixes, and darker tonal work.
  • Titan Buff & Cream: Useful for warmer light tones and softer neutral color mixtures.

Wicked Opaque vs. Wicked Transparent Colors

Wicked Opaque and Wicked Transparent Colors share the broader Wicked paint system but serve different painting needs.

  • Wicked Opaque Colors: Better suited to solid fills, stronger coverage, base colors, lettering, and areas where more hiding power is needed.
  • Wicked Transparent Colors: Better suited to layering, shading, gradients, color buildup, and applications where underlying color should remain visible.
