The standard Wicked palette includes primary, secondary, earth, neutral, and specialty shades that can be used individually, intermixed, or layered to create a wide range of color effects.

• Primary & Core Colors: Wicked Yellow, Red, Blue, White, Black, Orange, and Violet provide a practical foundation for general color mixing and custom painting.
• Extended Colors: Deep Blue, Phthalo Green, Laguna Blue, Apple Green, Crimson, Golden Yellow, Brown, and Red Oxide expand the working palette.
• Neutral Colors: Wicked Grey, White, Black, and earth-toned colors support shading, value adjustments, backgrounds, and tonal work.
• High Gloss Colors: Wicked High Gloss White W017 and High Gloss Black W018 provide additional finish options within the standard Wicked range.
• Multiple Sizes: Selected Wicked colors are available in smaller bottles as well as larger production sizes, including gallon options.

High-Pigment Transparent Graphic Colors

Wicked Transparent Colors are different from a very lightly pigmented transparent paint. Createx formulates these colors with a high pigment volume, so they can provide semi-opaque coverage when sprayed directly from the bottle.

• Direct from the bottle: Produces stronger, more saturated graphic color.
• Reduced application: Increasing reduction creates thinner, more translucent color for shading, fades, layering, and controlled buildup.
• Layered color: Multiple light coats allow painters to gradually develop saturation and tonal depth.
• Intermixable palette: Wicked colors can be blended to create custom shades and transitions.

Airbrush Setup & 4011 Reducer

Wicked Transparent Colors can be sprayed directly from the bottle through larger airbrush tip sizes. Reduction is useful when working with smaller tips, lower pressure, or when greater transparency is desired.

• 0.5 mm airbrush: Createx recommends approximately 10% 4011 Reducer as a general starting point, with spray pressure around 25–30 psi.
• Smaller airbrush tips: Additional reduction may be used to improve atomization and allow lower-pressure spraying.
• 4011 Reducer: Lowers viscosity while also allowing Wicked Colors to be sprayed as thinner, more transparent layers.
• After reducing: Allowing the mixture to rest for approximately 10 minutes can help improve flow and leveling before spraying.

Reduction should always be adjusted for the specific color, airbrush, tip size, pressure, and painting technique rather than treated as one fixed ratio for every setup.

Wicked Transparent Colors for Multi-Surface Painting

Wicked Colors use a durable acrylic resin system designed for multi-surface painting. They can be used directly on suitable absorbent surfaces and incorporated into Createx hard-surface painting systems when additional adhesion and durability are needed.

Hard-Surface & Automotive-Style Applications

For rigid and non-porous surfaces, Createx recommends incorporating a compatible mixing clear into Wicked Colors rather than treating every substrate the same.

• 4030 Balancing Clear: Can be added at approximately 10% by volume for direct application to compatible prepared hard surfaces.
• 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear: May also be used as a mixing clear within the Wicked Colors system.
• After adding mixing clear: Thin as needed with 4011 Reducer according to the airbrush setup and desired spray characteristics.

Surface preparation, primer, clear-coat requirements, and curing procedures depend on the substrate and intended use of the finished project.

Transparent Wicked Colors vs. Wicked Detail Colors

Standard Wicked Transparent Colors and Wicked Detail Colors are both useful for layered painting, but they are designed with different spray characteristics.

• Wicked Transparent Colors: High-pigment standard graphic colors that provide stronger coverage straight from the bottle and can be reduced for transparency.
• Wicked Detail Colors: More transparent and lower in viscosity, with smaller resin particles that support finer atomization and lower-pressure detail work.
