Metallic & Specialty Colors for Model Cars

Automotive models can combine several different finishes within one project. Exterior panels may use metallic colors, while wheels, trim, engine details, lighting components, and decorative areas can require chrome-style, transparent, copper, gold, or other specialty finishes.

This Cobra Motor collection groups those finishes separately from the standard body-color ranges so they can be selected according to the surface or effect being represented.

Chrome & Aluminium Finishes

Chrome- and aluminium-oriented colors can be considered for wheels, trim, mechanical components, engine parts, polished details, and other metallic surfaces.

The appearance of reflective finishes can depend strongly on surface preparation and the underlying base color. Follow the individual product instructions when a specific base or preparation process is required.

Transparent Colors

Smoke Transparent, Red Transparent, Orange Transparent, and Yellow Transparent provide translucent color options for details where the underlying surface should remain visible.

Depending on the model, transparent colors can be considered for light lenses, tinted details, layered color effects, or other parts that require a translucent finish.

Gold, Copper & Metallic Accent Colors

BBS Gold, Copper Brown Metallic, Classic Copper, Metallic Turquoise, and other metallic shades provide additional options for wheels, body accents, mechanical parts, trim, and custom automotive schemes.

Multiple metallic tones can also be used within the same project to distinguish different materials and components rather than applying one metallic color across every surface.

Metallic Bodywork & Custom Finishes

Colors such as Rosso Metallizzato and other metallic shades can be used where a metallic automotive body color or accent is appropriate.

Primer, base color, number of layers, lighting, and final clear finish can influence the appearance of metallic paint. Test unfamiliar color combinations before applying them across a completed model.
