This Cobra Motor collection brings those supporting products together for modelers working with compatible AMMO automotive paint and finishing systems.

What’s in This Collection

The current collection includes six Cobra Motor preparation and finishing products:

• Clear 2K Lacquer: A clear finishing product used as part of the Cobra Motor 2K clear system.
• Hardener: The corresponding component used with compatible products where specified by the manufacturer.
• Clear & Lacquer Thinner: Intended for compatible clear and lacquer applications according to product instructions.
• Cobra Motor Thinner: A thinner for compatible Cobra Motor paint applications.
• Acrylic Thinner: Used to adjust compatible acrylic paint consistency when required.
• Black Gloss Primer: A dark gloss primer option for compatible model-painting workflows.

Black Gloss Primer

Cobra Motor Black Gloss Primer provides a dark, glossy base layer for projects where that type of primer surface is appropriate.

Primer selection can depend on the body color, finish, substrate, and paint system being used. Follow the individual product directions for preparation, application, and drying requirements.

Cobra Motor Thinners

Thinners are used to adjust compatible paint or clear products according to the requirements of the selected application method. This collection includes Cobra Motor Thinner, Acrylic Thinner, and Clear & Lacquer Thinner for different parts of the painting workflow.

Do not assume that one thinner can be substituted for another. Match the thinner to the specific paint or finishing product identified by the manufacturer.

Clear 2K Lacquer & Hardener

The collection also includes Clear 2K Lacquer and its related Hardener. These components form part of a product-specific finishing system and should be prepared and applied according to the instructions supplied with the products.

Mixing ratios, application conditions, drying or curing times, and compatible supporting products should be confirmed from the individual product directions rather than estimated.

Building a Cobra Motor Paint Workflow

The exact sequence can vary by project and paint system, but model car finishing commonly involves several separate stages:

• Surface preparation: Prepare the model according to the material and finish being used.
• Priming: Apply an appropriate primer when required by the painting process.
• Color application: Apply compatible Cobra Motor colors according to the individual paint instructions.
• Thinning: Adjust compatible products only when required and with the thinner specified for that system.
• Clear finishing: Apply the selected clear system after the underlying layers have reached the required stage for recoating.

Important Product Compatibility & Handling

Primers, acrylic thinners, lacquer thinners, hardeners, and clear products can have different chemical systems and handling requirements. Always check the individual label and product instructions before combining materials.

Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for ventilation, protective equipment, mixing, application, cleanup, storage, and disposal, particularly when working with solvent-based or multi-component finishing products.
