Controlled Recess Shading
Voodoo Shade is designed to flow into gaps, joints, panel lines, folds, dents, and other recessed details where natural shadows would collect.
This helps separate neighboring surfaces and makes sculpted details easier to read without manually painting every shadow line.
Armor Panel Definition
Apply Voodoo Shade directly into the spaces between armor panels to establish clear separation and increase the sense of depth.
It can also be placed around dents, damaged edges, bolts, vents, and other areas that need stronger shading or weathered definition.
Greasy Industrial Metallic Effects
Voodoo Shade can be applied selectively over metallic areas to create a darker, greasy, industrial appearance.
Concentrate it around generators, mechanical joints, moving components, weapon mechanisms, chainmail, vents, and other locations where oil, residue, and grime would naturally gather.
Weapons, Machinery and Equipment
Use the wash around weapon components, gears, pistons, chains, cables, engine details, mechanical limbs, industrial equipment, and vehicle parts.
After the wash has dried, selected metallic edges can be restored with the original metal color or a brighter metallic highlight.
Chainmail and Textured Metal
The wash can settle between individual rings and textured metallic details, increasing separation while darkening the recessed areas.
Once dry, lightly drybrush the raised metal with the original metallic color to restore shine and reinforce the texture.
Weathered Armor and Battle Damage
Voodoo Shade can be combined with painted chips, scratches, rust streaks, and worn edges to build a layered battle-damaged finish.
Apply it sparingly around selected damage rather than flooding the complete surface so the weathering remains controlled and readable.

How to Use
- Shake the bottle thoroughly for approximately 30 seconds.
- Dispense a small amount onto a palette.
- Apply the wash over a completely dry basecoat.
- Guide it toward recesses, joints, panel gaps, and textured areas.
- Use a fine brush for controlled panel lining and selected details.
- Remove excessive pooling from broad or raised surfaces.
- Allow the wash to dry fully before applying another coat.
- Restore raised areas with the base color or a highlight after drying.
Controlling Pooling
Work in smaller sections and watch the surface as the wash begins to settle. Excessive liquid can move toward lower edges, corners, or broad flat areas.
Use a clean, lightly damp brush to wick away unwanted pools before they dry. Avoid repeatedly brushing areas that have already started setting.
Restoring Highlights After Shading
After Voodoo Shade has dried, reapply the original base color to raised surfaces that need more clarity.
Add final edge highlights only after the wash is completely dry so the details remain crisp and the recess shading stays intact.
