Turnbull Turquoise uses the flowing Speedpaint formula to establish the main turquoise color while naturally settling into recessed details.
More pigment collects around folds, joints, panel lines, scales, and textured surfaces, while raised areas remain lighter because more of the undercoat stays visible.
Best Results Over a Light Undercoat
Apply Turnbull Turquoise over white, light beige, or light grey primer when a clear and vibrant Speedpaint effect is required.
The color and brightness of the undercoat directly affect the finished result. A darker foundation produces a more restrained and shadowed turquoise appearance.
Turquoise Shadows for Grimdark Armor
Turnbull Turquoise can add blue-green shadows and atmospheric color to armor, machinery, cloth, shields, vehicles, weapons, and other painted surfaces.
Its turquoise tone works naturally alongside weathered ochres, faded greens, dark metallics, brown damage, and other restrained grimdark colors.
Controlled Glazing and Color Toning
Use a lighter application when Turnbull Turquoise is intended to tint an existing surface rather than serve as a complete one-coat base.

Work one area at a time and guide excessive paint away from flat panels, lower edges, and corners where it may collect.
A clean, lightly damp brush can remove excess paint before it dries. Avoid repeatedly brushing areas that have already started to set.
Highlighting After Speedpaint
Once Turnbull Turquoise is dry, standard acrylic miniature paints can be applied over it to strengthen edges, restore raised surfaces, and create sharper focal highlights.
