One-Coat Red Miniature Painting
Bloodmoon Red uses the flowing Speedpaint formula to establish a red midtone, collect in recessed details for deeper shadows, and leave raised surfaces lighter where more of the undercoat remains visible.
This makes it useful for painting detailed red surfaces quickly while preserving sculpted texture and separation between raised and recessed areas.

Bloodmoon Red adds a strong red accent to weathered armor, corrupted skin, cloth, leather, symbols, banners, organic details, and other focal areas within a restrained grimdark palette.
Best Results Over a Light Undercoat
Apply Bloodmoon Red over a light-colored primer or undercoat so its transparent one-coat properties can create visible shadows and highlights.
White, light beige, and light grey foundations generally produce the clearest Speedpaint effect. A darker undercoat will create a more muted result.
Using Bloodmoon Red as a Glaze
Bloodmoon Red can also be applied as a controlled glaze to tint an existing paint scheme and increase its red saturation.
Use less paint than for a normal one-coat application and spread it evenly across the surface. Remove heavy pools before they dry when a more uniform tint is required.
Red Glazing Over Metallic Armor
A thin application over metallic paint can tint the metal red while allowing the reflective surface beneath it to remain visible.
Bloodmoon Red can also be concentrated in metallic recesses to darken and dirty the armor while helping transitions between red and metallic areas appear more connected.

How to Use
- Prepare the miniature with a light-colored primer or undercoat.
- Shake the bottle thoroughly before use.
- Dispense the paint onto a hard palette.
- Load the brush with enough paint for a smooth, flowing application.
- Apply one generous and controlled coat over the intended area.
- Allow the paint to flow naturally into recessed details.
- Remove unwanted pools before the paint dries.
- Allow the coat to dry before adding acrylic highlights or details.
Palette Recommendation
A hard palette is recommended for Speedpaint. Its thin consistency can pass through wet-palette paper and may stain the foam underneath.
A dry plastic, ceramic, or metal palette makes it easier to control the amount of paint loaded onto the brush.
Controlling Pooling and Coverage
Work one section at a time and guide excess paint away from flat areas, lower edges, and corners where it may collect.
A clean, lightly damp brush can be used to remove excess paint before it dries. Avoid repeatedly brushing partially dried areas, as this can disturb the developing finish.
Paint-Type Notice: Bloodmoon Red is a Speedpaint. It should not be classified as a standard Warpaints Fanatic color, wash, or opaque base paint.
