Um, fingernail polish came from oldschool automotive lacquer paint, not the other way around.

I don't know what this other commentor is going on about, but this is the best deal on the highest quality solvent based paint out there. Race orange has room for improvement, it's not as extreme an orange as Gaia fluorescent orange, but it's better than most. This line isn't modern urethane auto paint, the 150ml bottles come in the same colors sold here in half pints for lettering and pin striping and liters of pretty typical auto grade urethane, but it's slightly different chemically, it's a 1k solvent product that sprays a lot more like a lacquer than a urethane base. I live in the desert so I reduce it with Mr. Levelling Thinner and it goes on beautifully and it's a nice big bottle for 13 bucks and some change.

But fingernail polish literally was just an idea for a way to get women buying nitrocellulose lacquer coatings developed for the automotive industry. This isn't reduced fingernail polish, fingernail polish is slightly more concentrated this shit.
