Villainy Ink Model Paints – Enamel Washes & Effects for Miniatures
Looking to push weathering and storytelling on your figures and dioramas? The Villainy Ink Model Paints collection focuses on enamel washes and effects that flow into recesses, tint surfaces, and create convincing grime, rust, and age. Enamels level beautifully, give you ample working time, and can be reactivated with thinner—perfect for controlled panel lining, streaking, and subtle shading over acrylic basecoats.
What’s in this collection
Inside Villainy Ink Model Paints you’ll find the Villainy Ink Starter Set (7×30mL) for an all-in-one jump start, plus individual 30mL bottles to restock your most-used tones: Goon’s Grime, Dystopian Brown, Ichor of the Damned, Decay of Death, Carrion Crimson, Sector Rust, and Coelia Green. Each color is tuned for miniature work—thin enough to flow, saturated enough to read at gaming distance, and formulated to layer without destroying previous passes.
Why enamel washes?
Compared with acrylics, these enamel washes stay open longer so you can move, feather, and erase with odorless enamel thinner. That makes them ideal for pin-washing panel lines, adding oil and soot around vents, creating rain marks, or building rusty, streaky textures on armor plates, weapons, bases, and terrain. Once dry, the finish remains smooth and semi-matte, ready for further acrylic highlights, chipping, or pigment work.
Tips for best results
Work over a cured acrylic varnish (satin or gloss) to maximize capillary action and cleanup. Apply a small amount with a fine brush, let capillary forces do the work, then remove excess with a soft brush dampened in thinner. For rust, combine Sector Rust with a touch of Dystopian Brown and stipple after the wash stage. For undead or alien tinges, glaze with Ichor of the Damned or Coelia Green; for blood and meat tones, finish with Carrion Crimson. Allow adequate drying time between layers and protect finished work with a clear varnish.
Who is it for?
Whether you paint tabletop miniatures, display figures, scale vehicles, or narrative dioramas, Villainy Ink Model Paints give you fast, repeatable results with professional control. New painters will love how quickly recess shading and panel lining snap into place; experienced artists will appreciate the subtle color design and the reworkability that enamels provide.
