  • Primary & Secondary Sets: Core color selections for general airbrushing, color mixing, and building a practical Wicked Colors palette.
  • Fluorescent Sets: Bright fluorescent colors for projects that call for vivid, high-impact effects.
  • Pearl & Metallic Sets: Reflective colors for custom graphics, models, automotive-style work, helmets, and specialty finishes.
  • Wicked Detail Sets: Lower-viscosity, more transparent Wicked colors suited to fine atomization, shading, illustration, and detailed airbrush work.

  • Automotive-style and custom graphics

  • Canvas and illustration work
  • Wood and prepared plastic
  • Textiles and flexible surfaces

Wicked Colors, Wicked Detail & Specialty Finishes

The Wicked range includes several color types with different levels of transparency, finish, and application behavior.

  • Standard Wicked Colors: High-pigment transparent colors that provide strong coverage while still allowing painters to reduce them for more transparent and detailed applications.
  • Wicked Detail Colors: Less viscous and more transparent than standard Wicked Colors, making them well suited to detailed, low-pressure airbrushing, illustration, and subtle color buildup.
  • Opaque Colors: Designed for stronger coverage when transparency is not the main goal.
  • Pearls & Metallics: Reflective finishes that add metallic, pearlized, and specialty visual effects.
  • Fluorescent & Specialty Colors: Focused color groups for brighter effects, themed palettes, and application-specific projects.

Choosing the Right Wicked Colors Paint Set

The best set depends on the type of colors needed, the level of detail involved, and whether the goal is a focused palette or a broader studio selection.

  • Choose Primary or Secondary Sets for a practical starting range and general color mixing.
  • Choose Wicked Detail Sets for fine-detail airbrushing, illustration, shading, and more transparent color work.
  • Choose Opaque Sets when stronger coverage is preferred.
  • Choose Pearl, Metallic, or Fluorescent Sets when the project requires a specialty visual effect.
  • Choose larger 18-, 35-, or 59-color assortments when a broader Wicked Colors palette is needed for varied projects.

Reducing & Adjusting Wicked Colors

Wicked Colors may be sprayed directly from the bottle in suitable applications and equipment, or reduced when a thinner mixture is preferred for smaller tip sizes, lower pressure, or more detailed work. Createx uses 4011 Reducer as the standard reducer for Wicked Colors.

For hard-surface and automotive applications, compatible mixing clears such as 4030 Balancing Clear may also be incorporated according to Createx application guidance to support flow and adhesion. Reduction and mixing ratios should be adjusted for the specific color, equipment, surface, and technique.
