Createx Transparent Colors are formulated without the fillers used to create opaque coverage. This allows painters to build color gradually while letting the base or previous paint layers influence the final appearance.

• Layered color: Build additional coats to gradually increase color depth and saturation.
• Shading & gradients: Useful for soft transitions, fades, shadows, and controlled tonal changes.

Using Transparent Colors Over Light & Dark Bases

Createx notes that Transparent Airbrush Colors often work best over a light-colored foundation such as Opaque White. A lighter base allows transparent colors to appear brighter and makes gradual color buildup easier to see.

• Light bases: Help transparent colors appear brighter and closer to their intended hue.
• Dark bases: Produce deeper and more subdued results because the underlying color remains visible through the transparent layer.
• Colored bases: Can be used intentionally to create custom combinations and layered visual effects.

Airbrush Setup & Transparency Control

Createx Transparent Colors have a high pigment load and may provide semi-opaque coverage when sprayed directly from the bottle with a suitable airbrush. Their transparency and spray characteristics can be adjusted based on the equipment and desired technique.

• 0.5 mm airbrush: A 0.5 mm tip provides a practical setup for spraying many Createx Transparent Colors directly from the bottle.
• 4011 Reducer: May be added to lower viscosity and improve flow and atomization, especially with smaller airbrush tip sizes.
• 5601 Transparent Base: Can be mixed with the colors to increase transparency while maintaining the acrylic paint system.
• Smaller tips: Additional reduction may be useful when working with smaller airbrush nozzles and more detailed spray patterns.
