Createx Pearlized Colors

Pearlized Colors combine transparent color with pearl powder to create reflective finishes that retain some influence from the underlying base. The range includes warm, cool, neutral, and metallic-style pearl shades.

Createx Iridescent Colors

Iridescent Colors add a more noticeable color-shift effect than standard Pearlized Colors. Their appearance changes as light moves across the painted surface or as the viewing angle changes.

Choosing a Base Color for Pearl & Iridescent Effects

Because Pearlized and Iridescent Airbrush Colors are transparent, the base underneath them has a significant effect on the finished appearance.

• Darker pearl and iridescent colors: Createx recommends applying them over a black base such as Createx Opaque Black or AutoBorne Sealer Black when a deeper, more dramatic effect is desired.
• Lighter colors: A white base such as Createx Opaque White or AutoBorne Sealer White helps lighter pearl shades appear brighter and cleaner.
• Colored bases: Can be used intentionally to create custom combinations and modify the final pearl or color-shift effect.

Airbrush Setup & Reduction

Pearlized and Iridescent Colors contain effect particles, so proper airbrush setup and reduction can help improve flow and atomization.

• 4011 Reducer: May be used to lower viscosity and improve spray performance when additional reduction is needed.
• 5601 Transparent Base: Can be used to extend the paint and adjust transparency while maintaining the acrylic paint system.
• Hard-surface applications: 4030 Balancing Clear may be added according to Createx guidance to improve spray performance and adhesion on compatible plastic, vinyl, and other prepared hard surfaces.

Reduction and spray settings should be adjusted for the specific color, airbrush tip size, pressure, surface, and desired effect.
