A-STAND Candy Lacquers by AMMO provide translucent color options for layered metallic and specialty finishes on scale models. Transparent Candy Colors for Scale Models

Candy finishes differ from standard opaque colors because the underlying surface remains part of the final appearance. This allows a reflective or metallic base to influence the color seen through the translucent top layer.

The effect can vary according to the base color, number of coats, surface preparation, and final clear finish, so testing the combination before applying it to a completed model is useful.

Bright Silver Candy Base

Building Color Gradually

Translucent finishes allow the color to develop as additional layers are applied. Light application can preserve more of the underlying metallic appearance, while additional coats can increase the visible color intensity.
