4013 Reducer
Water-Based Paint Material
Flammable!
Contains Isopropyl Alcohol

Description

4013 Reducer is a thinner suitable for use with all Createx paints. 4013 Reducer can be used as substitute for 4011 Reducer.

FLAMMABLE! The isopropyl alcohol in 4013 Reducer is classified as a flammable substance.
Store in a fire-proof cabinet.
Keep away from open flame and only use in a well-ventilated area.

4013 Reducer is compliant with clean air regulations and jurisdictions including South Coast AQMD Rule 1401.

Usage

Adding 4013 Reducer to paint: 1) assists drying times by flashing water from the paint, 2) reduces tip-dry, and decreases paint viscosity (“thins it”) for improved flow and atomization, especially when airbrushing.

Add 4013 Reducer 5% - 10% per volume to paint.

Allow 10+ minutes for reduced paint to acclimate.
Adding 4013 Reducer to paint helps to eliminate surface tension of the water, for improved flow and leveling.

Pot-Life

There is not a pot-life after thinning Createx paints with 4013 Reducer. So long as colors are capped air-tight when not pouring paint from the bottle, the reduced-paints are safe to keep for several weeks.

Long-term storage of reduced paint is not recommended. Adding 4013 Reducer assists evaporation of the paint’s water content, which promotes curing every time the bottle is opened and fresh air is introduced.  Reduced paint will eventually lose its original sprayable viscosity over time, due to loss of water content and partial curing of resin.
Best practice is to only use reduced paint, capped air-tight, for a month or so.

Storage

FLAMMABLE!
Keep 4013 Reducer stored in a flame-proof cabinet when not in use.
Keep away from flames.

Health & Safety

Use in a well-ventilated area.  Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water after use.  Do not ingest.
When spraying or sanding, use a properly-fitting NIOSH approved respirator per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Skin contact: Thoroughly wash with soap and warm water. Wearing gloves is recommended.
Eye contact: Rinse with clean water for 15 minutes.  Seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Use in in well ventilated areas and wear a NIOSH approved respirator.
Refer to 4013 Reducer SDS for additional information.

4013 Createx Water-Based Reducer Review

The 4013 Createx Water-Based Reducer order was delivered quickly. The product mixes well with all my airbrush paints mostly Createx Sealers and paint. SprayGunner has been a pleasure to purchase from, I highly recommend.

Good

I like it for some things Its better for thicker paints and it dries a little slower

Reducer

Seems more aggressive than 4011. Should work good with thicker paints when a faster drying time is needed.

No bad smell

First time using this thinner, but I like it better than the 4012 and even the 4011. Works good for me.
