Mr.Color is a paint that has long been highly regarded by modelers all over the world as a model paint that delivers an excellent finish. There are a large number of colors and color types, and they are suitable for painting most models.

  • 1 - 2 coats are recommended when brush painting
  • 2 - 3 coats when using an air brush - after diluting to a ratio of 1 (Mr.Color) : 1-2 (Mr. thinner).
  • Mix in 5 - 10% of Flat Base to make glossy colors semi-glossy.
  • Mix in 10 - 20% of Flat Base for a matte finish.

See my other Mr. Color reviews. Now that I've used Mr. Color on several kits I'm liking it more and more.

Mr. Color 60 (RLM 02 Gray)

Test sprayed onto piece of Evergreen card stock using Iwata Eclipse HP-CS at 20 psi. Paint mixed 50/50 with Mr. Color Leveling thinner. After two passes very good coverage. Dried quickly to a semi-gloss(slightly on the matte side) finish. After drying for 30 minutes used Tamiya masking tape burnished down and there was no lift up at all.
