What Are Createx candy2o Colors?

candy2o colors are metal-complex dye concentrates rather than conventional opaque or pigment-based paints. Their transparency allows metallic, pearl, and other reflective base colors to remain visible through the candy layer.

• 100% transparent color: Allows the base coat to remain visible while adding color and depth.
• Layered color development: Each additional coat builds a darker and more saturated color value.
• Metallic-base effects: Designed to create bright candy finishes over silver, gold, pearl, metallic, and other reflective grounds.
• Intermixable colors: candy2o shades can be combined to create custom transparent colors and variations.

Using candy2o Over Metallic & Pearl Bases

The appearance of candy2o depends heavily on the base underneath it. Createx uses AutoBorne 6013 Silver Sealer as a reference metallic base, while other metallic and pearl colors can be used to produce different candy effects.

• Silver bases: Create bright, clean candy colors with strong metallic reflection.
• Gold and warm metallic bases: Can shift the finished candy toward warmer tones and are useful for candy-apple-style effects.
• Pearl and metallic colors: candy2o may also be used with compatible Wicked pearl and metallic colors to create customized finishes.
• Layer control: Applying additional candy coats gradually increases color depth, allowing the painter to control the final shade.

Mixing Createx candy2o for Airbrushing

candy2o is concentrated in the bottle and should be mixed with a suitable carrier before spraying. Createx currently recommends 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear as the primary carrier medium because it helps keep the dyes evenly suspended and supports consistent color build.

• Airbrush starting mix: Mix approximately 1 part 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear to 1 part candy2o.
• Reduction: After mixing with 4050, add approximately 10%–20% 4011 Reducer when additional thinning is needed for airbrush atomization.
• Acclimation: Allow the reduced mixture to rest for about 10 minutes before spraying to support flow and leveling.
• Spray-gun applications: A significantly higher ratio of 4050 to candy2o is generally used for spray-gun application compared with airbrushing.

Mixing ratios can vary by color, equipment, and application method, so the current Createx candy2o technical data sheet should be used as the final reference for a specific project.

Correct supporting products are important when working with candy2o. Createx recommends 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear as the carrier medium for the concentrated dyes, with 4011 Reducer added as needed for airbrush application.
