CREATEX COLORS ‱ REDUCERS & ADDITIVES

Createx Reducers & Additives for Airbrush Paint Performance

Createx reducers and additives help airbrush users adjust paint viscosity, improve application characteristics, manage adhesion, control transparency, and prepare Createx paint systems for different surfaces and working conditions. This collection also includes mixing clears, UVLS clears, specialty products, and maintenance solutions used with Createx airbrush paints.

Createx Airbrush Paint Reducers

Reducers lower paint viscosity and help users adjust Createx paints for their airbrush setup, tip size, working conditions, and desired spray characteristics. Always follow the recommended mixing guidance for the specific Createx paint system being used.

  • 4011 Reducer: Createx's standard water-based reducer for Createx paints and clears. It is commonly used to lower viscosity and improve spray performance when reduction is needed.
  • 4021 Reducer: Another Createx water-based reducer option for adjusting paint viscosity. Refer to the applicable Createx technical data sheet for recommended compatibility and mixing ratios.
  • 4020 Automotive Reducer: A water-based reducer containing acetone that Createx recommends for use in humid conditions. It can be blended with 4011 Reducer according to Createx technical guidance.
  • 4013 Reducer: A specialized isopropyl-alcohol-based thinner offered as an alternative reducer within the Createx system.

Createx Balancing Clear, Bleed Checker & Transparent Base

Createx also offers specialty products that change how paint behaves, improve adhesion, manage transparency, or support layered color applications.

  • 4030 Balancing Clear: A water-based urethane clear used as a flow and adhesion enhancer when mixed with compatible Createx paints. It can also serve as a carrier for candy2o and may be used as an inter-coat in selected applications.
  • 4040 Bleed Checker: A urethane-acrylic inter-coat designed specifically for application over candy2o. It helps prevent candy2o dyes from migrating into colors applied over them.
  • 4004 Transparent Base: Used to increase paint transparency without reducing the strength of the paint's resin system, making it useful for controlled transparency, blending, washes, and layered effects.

Createx UVLS Clears

UVLS Clears are water-based acrylic-aliphatic polyurethane clears designed for protective, mixing, and specialty applications within the Createx system. Different finishes allow users to choose the appearance that best fits the project.

  • 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear: A gloss clear that can also be used as a carrier medium for candy2o and as an adhesive primer in compatible applications.
  • 4051 UVLS Satin Clear: Provides a lower-gloss satin finish for projects where full gloss is not preferred.
  • 4052 UVLS Matte Clear: Designed for a matte finish while providing the protective characteristics of the UVLS Clear system.
  • 4053 UVLS High Gloss Clear: A high-gloss option within the Createx UVLS Clear range.

Createx Restorer & Airbrush Maintenance

Not every product in this collection is intended to be mixed with paint. Maintenance products have a different role and should be used according to their specific instructions.

  • 4008 Restorer: A cleaning solution used for soaking metallic airbrush and spray-gun parts to help remove dried or cured paint. It is a maintenance product rather than a paint reducer or mixing additive.

Choosing the Right Createx Reducer or Additive

The correct product depends on what needs to be adjusted. Reducers are used primarily to lower viscosity, while balancing clears and bases can change adhesion, flow, transparency, or layering characteristics. UVLS Clears support protective and finishing applications, while products such as Bleed Checker and Restorer have more specialized purposes.

Reduction ratios and product compatibility can vary between Createx Airbrush Colors, Wicked Colors, Illustration Colors, candy2o, and other Createx systems. For best results, follow the technical data sheet for the specific paint and supporting product being used.
