Midnight Olive adds a darker and more atmospheric starting color to the Olive Greens Flexible Triad PLUS+ family.
It can remain visible in recesses and shaded areas while progressively lighter olive-green colors are applied to raised surfaces, edges, folds, and focal details.
Olive Greens Flexible Triad PLUS+
Midnight Olive is the John Blanche Masterclass addition to The Army Painter Olive Greens Flexible Triad PLUS+ family.
It can be combined with Woodland Camo, Army Green, Camouflage Green, Olive Drab, Necrotic Flesh, and Grotesque Green to build a progression from deep olive shadows to lighter, desaturated green highlights.
Armor and Military Color Schemes
The Army Painter uses Midnight Olive as a solid basecoat for armor in an official John Blancheâthemed Trench Crusade painting guide.
Apply it across the main armor surfaces, then introduce lighter green tones from above or on raised panels to establish direction, contrast, and volume.

- Allow each layer to dry before adding additional colors.
