5092 Flex Additive

Mix-in flexibility booster
5092 Flex Additive is a clear, water-based acrylic resin formulated to improve paint flexibility and adhesion when painting on soft, flexible materials.

Key Features:

• Creates a flexible, non-cracking finish

• Ideal for latex masks and cosplay props

• Low-viscosity clear that thickens when mixed with paint

• Mix 10–20% per volume with Createx paints (more for very flexible surfaces)

• Thin as needed with 4011 Reducer

• Maintains strong adhesion while allowing flexibility and movement

Drying Note: Paints mixed with 5092 will dry more slowly. Allow adequate air drying at room temperature (60°F or above). Use moving air rather than heat for best results.

Storage: Long shelf life of 8–10 years. Store airtight at 60–80°F.

4030 Balancing Clear

Durability and adhesion enhancer
4030 Balancing Clear is a urethane resin-based clear designed to improve adhesion, flow, and leveling when mixed with Createx paints.

Benefits:

• Enhances durability and scratch resistance

• Improves flow and atomization

• Reduces tip-dry

• Promotes smooth, texture-free coatings

• Improves adhesion to plastics, 3D prints, fiberglass, urethane, epoxy, wood, and metal

• Remains flexible for use on soft substrates

Mix Ratio: Add 10% per volume to Createx paints. Thin with 4011 Reducer (10–25%) for optimal flow.
Tip: Allow 10 or more minutes after mixing before spraying.

Flexible Surface Formula:
For maximum flexibility, combine the following:

• Createx Paint

• 4030 Balancing Clear – 10%

• 5092 Flex Additive – 20%

• 4011 Reducer – 20%

This mixture provides excellent flexibility and adhesion, ideal for masks, props, and soft foam materials.

4011 Reducer

Professional-grade thinner
4011 Reducer is the standard reducer for all Createx paints and clears, ensuring smooth, consistent spray performance.

Benefits:

• Improves flow and atomization

• Reduces tip-dry

• Speeds drying and curing

• Breaks water’s surface tension for smoother finishes

Mix Ratio: Add in 5–10% increments, up to a maximum of 20% as needed.
Pro Tip: Let stand for 10 or more minutes before spraying to allow full acclimation.

How It Works

5092 Flex Additive contains a softer acrylic resin that lowers the paint’s hardness (Tg value), improving flexibility. When combined with 4030 Balancing Clear, the result is a tough yet flexible finish that resists cracking and peeling, even on highly flexible surfaces.

Usage and Application

• Mix thoroughly in a separate cup for at least one minute (do not shake in airbrush cup)

• Apply in medium-wet coats with 50% overlap

• Allow adequate dry time between coats

• Airbrush settings: 0.5 mm tip / 25–30 psi

• Spray gun settings: 1.2–1.3 mm tip / 18–22 psi inlet pressure

Pot Life and Storage

• No pot life when stored airtight

• Store in a cool, dark environment (60–80°F)

• Use reduced mixes within 12 hours for best performance

Cleaning

• Use 5618 Airbrush Cleaner or 4011 Reducer to rinse

• For deep cleaning, use 4008 Restorer

• Avoid harsh solvents before full cure

Health and Safety

• Use in well-ventilated areas

• Wear gloves and a NIOSH-approved respirator when spraying

• Avoid contact with eyes or skin

• Do not ingest

• Rinse eyes with clean water for 15 minutes if exposed
