Airbrush Step By Step Magazine Issue 76
Heavy Metal.... may not suit everyone's taste in music, but there was one thing the "metalheads" were particularly good at in the 70s to 90s: they had unique illustrations created for their album covers, often using the airbrush technique, which went down in music history. Music and art like to go hand in hand, which is why Australian artist Joseph
Gonzalez chose the well-known cover image by Peter Criss, former drummer of the band Kiss, for his design of a drum kit.

Agnieszka Maluchnik from Poland was also commissioned to paint an instrument: she designed a steampunk-style skull on an electric guitar.
Colombian artist Edith Davila also chose a rock star for her portrait and painted Cindy Lauper with lots of interesting 80s light and glitter effects.
"Heavy Metal" is also the name of the comic magazine for science fiction, fantasy, eroticism and steampunk art, which has been published since 1977. Numerous renowned illustrators designed the sophisticated covers and content of the "Heavy Metal" magazine and we are particularly proud to have two of them in this issue:
The American Michael Calandra designed our cover with a romantic, dark vampire illustration that he had started a long time ago as a pencil sketch.
Furthermore, Brian M. Viveros gives an insight into what he calls his "anti-pin-up" art. Turning to "heavy metal" as a painting surface, we are giving you impressive insights into the Iwata Gallery in Portland, OR, showing one of the largest collection of airbrush art worldwide.
Let’s rock with the new issue!
