Simply use a small amount of pigment on the tip of the brush and rub the surface area. You can even create color gradations by simply altering the pressure exerted on the parts.

Rubber Brushes are also useful for modelling figures or other elements with sculpting putties. They can even be used to paint small details with acrylics such as cockpit instruments in aircraft.

Rubber brush set

Great set of brushes, are perfect for applying pigment powder to a model. Ive also found it very useful for sculpting putty if you apply a tiny amount of petroleum jelly to keep it from sticking.

Mig rubber brush set

Great brushes for smoothing out putting on your models. Also works great for putting super glue in tight places. Once it dries out on the rubber, just bend the rubber part and the dried glue cracks off.
