Ammo by MIG Publications How to Paint Mid WWII German Tanks (FEB 1943 - SEP 1944) (Bilingual)

In this book, five master modelers explain in detail how to create the most commonly used camouflage for German armoured vehicles during the mid-phase of World War II, which includes most of the years 1943 and 1944. During this time, new camouflage colours were introduced, with a base of dark yellow, Dunkelgelb, replacing the previous dark gray, accompanied by olive green -Olivgrün- and dark brown -Schokobraun-. The mid-war period also saw the appearance of Zimmerit, the anti-magnetic paste applied to the vertical surfaces of tanks and their derivatives, including assault guns and tank destroyers.

Not only is the painting process of the camouflage explained step by step, but you will also discover the keys to achieving an excellent level of weathering with effects of mud, splashes, streaks, dust, grease, and all kinds of dirt, and even how to easily create a perfect diorama base.

Eight models are used to offer a wide range of vehicles and camouflage, from assault guns like the StuG III to the colossal Tiger II, as well as the famous Panther, Tiger, Pz. IV tanks, even the Elefant and Jagdpanther tank destroyers.

Additionally, it includes a magnificent historical introduction to mid-war German camouflages and insignia (used between February 1943 and September 1944) by historian and modeler Daniele Guglielmi, accompanied by period photos. This mid-war German camouflage guide is also illustrated with colour profiles that show the different types of camouflages and colours applied and the period in which they were used.
