A good entry level trigger type airbrush

I had an other inexpensive trigger type airbrush that recently bit the dust, so I bought this one to take it's place for doing the work of spraying micro fil primers, and dissolved putty products. It does that very well. The one problem I had, was when it arrived, I tried to disassemble it so I could give it a good thorough. Upon cleaning. Upon trying to remove the nozzle from the cap that holds it in place, I found that the cap had been tightened to the point that I had to resort to a small crescent wrench to loosen it. Once the cap was off, the nozzle was jammed into so tight that I could not remove it. I actually had to resort to a small piece of wood and a small mallet to get it out. The fact that I had to resort to this method meant the nozzle was damaged and became useless. Fortunately, I had a spare nozzle of the same type and size to replace it.

No Name brand, Trigger type airbrush

I have several airbrushes. The prices range from $30 to $ 120. I definitely like the trigger type airbrushes best. Of all the airbrushes I've purchased, I think this is the best airbrush for the money. I only paint 1/24th scale car models, I use the .8 needle and nozzle on this brush. I have not tried the smaller needle and nozzle, I have no need for fine work. I do have a $100 airbrush, that sprays a nicer pattern, but the end paint job looks very near the same on both brushes. I use all Createx Wicked colors paint. The $100 airbrush is manufactured, using better material, and has a nicer finish, but if your doing models, this brush will get the job done.

no name pistol trigger airbrush

My 9 year old grandson wanted to learn to airbrush lures. I told him he could not use my airbrushes so I bought this brush for him.
My thoughts were that he could bypass the technique of learning to start his strokes with air and stopping his strokes with air. It worked perfectly for that. He practiced on a clipboard with card stock paper attached. It didn’t take him very long to get comfortable with it.
He comes to my house after school and so far, in less than a week he has painted two crank baits. Both of them are the same color. Other than talking him through the painting process the only thing I helped him with was holding the stencil that he used to make the shad dot. After I take him home I put eyes on them and clear coat them with Lure Coat epoxy. Which I have found to be very user friendly. After seeing the first one the next afternoon after it was epoxyed. He was elated and said, “Pop, it looks like store bought”. I said,”Yep, you really did a good job, can’t wait to see what you will be able to do in a couple of years.”
I really like this air brush and so does my grand son. It feels very comfortable in my hand and was easy to learn and easy to use and control. For the money spent, I feel that it was an excellent deal and well worth buying. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to airbrush.
