    Nice Bright Silver

Posted by R.E. Klaus on May 25, 2023

Not a chrome but a very nice bright silver. Needs to be applied in very light coats for best results. Covers well but underlying surface better be good or every flaw will show. Great for base coat on plastic models and under pearls and Candy 2.o.

    Quicksilver W357 Paint

Posted by Gregory Curless on Feb 24, 2023

I had heard that the Quicksilver paint was comparable to Alclad II. I have used many metalizer paints from Enamel, Lacquer, & Acrylics for creating a NMF for model aircraft. I was very impressed with Createx’s attempt to make a quality metalizer acrylic paint. I used it straight from the bottle into my .02 GSI Creos airbrush (also bought from Spraygunner). It went down beautifully over Createx High Gloss Black. Although it’s not at the Alclad II level (which will be hard to beat by anyone) Createx is on par with Vallejo’s Metal Color Line. I hope that Createx expands on this formula line, and will offer more metalizer colors and shades of Aluminum. Quicksilver is an excellent choice to use as base for a NMF. Give it a try, I think you will be happy with the results too.

    Chrome

Quicksilver is the closed thing to chrome that can be sprayed through an airbrush that I’ve found. This is my 2nd bottle.

I ordered this as a way to get a chrome color. Man was I amazed with the results. Remember a little goes a long way and use a black when using this.

    Chrome-like

Purchased as an alternative to Alclad Chrome. It is really comparable when applied to gloss black. Almost as deep a reflection, more durable and cheaper. Happy with my purchase.
